Holiday Activities at Lake Outlet Holiday Park, WanakaThere are a host of activities available right on the doorstep of Lake Outlet Holiday Park: Walking tracks Outlet Track – this scenic track follows the Clutha River from the Lake Wanaka outlet to Albert Town. Popular with both mountain bikers and walkers, it accesses some of the area’s best fly fishing and offers beautiful views of the meandering river. Mountain BikingLake Outlet Holiday Park is perfectly situated for accessing some of the region’s best single track mountain biking in the famous Sticky Forest. This fun network of trails offers something for all abilities. There are over 20 tracks to choose from; from the technical switchbacks of Stumpy and Yumpts, to the beautiful berms of Venus, to Crankin' Fine's legendary uphill corkscrew, these trails are expertly designed and are right next door to the campground. For those looking for a gentler ride, the tracks around Lake Wanaka and along the Clutha River are amount the most scenic in the country. Mountain bikes and helmets can be hired from a number of retailers in town. River & Lake FishingThe Lake Wanaka region offers an impressive array of angling opportunities to the visiting fisherman. Set in truly magnificent scenery, the area boasts three major lakes, a host of small still waters and a number of quality streams and rivers, from small intimate snow fed streams to the mighty Clutha River - New Zealand's largest. At the top of the Clutha River catchments the large glacial lakes of Wanaka and Hawea both support excellent mixed fisheries for brown and rainbow trout, and quinnat salmon. This is Otago’s summer playground whether you are fishing from the shore or from a boat and gets many visitors from throughout New Zealand and from overseas.
